ITRI and AIST are representative research institutions of Taiwan and Japan. The two sides have regularly held technical seminars since 2003, and signed a memorandum of understanding in 2005 to hold joint symposium in different places every two years. The main axes of cooperation and exchange include smart manufacturing, carbon neutrality, metrology, materials and chemistry, electronics, etc.
